15 Months

My Little Guy is getting so big! He wants to be a big boy so badly and tries to copy everything the girls do. This ends with a lot of bumps on the head and frustration for him but he just gets back up and tries again. He is persistent if nothing else! Emmett continues to be a happy go with the flow guy but his stubborn streak is getting worse. He can throw a legitimate tantrum including kicking and arching his back when he doesn't get what he wants or something gets taken away from him. They are short lived and he goes back to happy guy immediately after. 

Buggle tries to kill himself at least five times a day. He climbs things and jumps off, slams his head into things, and always keeps us on our toes. He rarely cries from being hurt, even when he slams his head on the floor and ends up with a giant bump. He just gets back up and tries again. He still cries if he is told no though. You can tell him no in the nicest voice, but he still makes the saddest face and bursts into tears. It's pretty funny.

Emmett is getting better at communicating with more than just grunts and pointing. He tries to say words now and uses signs a lot more. He still signs please furiously over and over when he wants something but doesn't tell us what he wants and gets frustrated when we don't give it to him. He is great at saying no and shakes his little head furiously. He can say Bailey now and one night we were reading and he kept wanting to go back to a page of a little girl. He was saying something and kissing her when I finally realized he was saying Bailey. He loves his cousin!

This is what happens in church

Emee still loves hats, balls, shoes, and has now added socks to his loves. He requests socks to be put on him and sits down and lifts his little feet up. He also likes putting slippers on. Emmett knows some body parts and will point to his mouth, teeth, tongue, hands, and feet when asked. We're working on animal noises, but so far only have cat, dog, bunny (sniff sniff), bird, and pig. And only when he feels like telling us. He still loves his stuffed bunny, Conejo, and requests him all the time. He drags that poor bunny all over the place and sometimes carries him in his mouth like a little dog.

Overall Emmett continues to be such a fun Little Guy and we just adore him. He and Clara actually play together now and chase each other around. It's super cute! He's still my little Snuggle Buggle and loves to cuddle and snuggle. I love this Little Guy to pieces!

Things Emmett Loves

Mama and Dada, nursing, being carried in the carrier, Clarita and Bailey, playing with his toys, being a baby airplane, people in general, spitting, splurping, eating, animals, especially his cats, going for walks in the stroller, swinging, Gymboree, baths, being outside, climbing, balls, running, hats, trying to jump, dancing, eating.

Things Emmett Does Not Love

Waiting to eat, having his face/nose wiped, having things taken away from him, being set down when he is hungry or tired, having his diaper changed, being held when he wants to walk, and being told no.

Eating

He's not quite as into eating as he was before and he's starting to get pickier. His favorite foods are pizza and goldfish crackers. When he sees either one (or a box) he starts whining and trying to grab it. He still likes all fruits, some veggies, and meat is hit or miss. He will eat anything if it is on a pizza!

Signing
He is starting to sign a lot more and constantly signs please when he wants something. He signs more, eat, sleep, water, hat, please, thank you, baby, all done, outside, dog, cat, fish, horse, ball, train, drink, brush teeth, car, shoes, socks, wash hands, Dada, Mama, diaper.

Talking
Emmett is still not a big talker but babbles away constantly in his alien language. He prefers to point and grunt/whine when he wants something. He says Mama, Dada, ma (mas), awa (agua), cl (clara), up, dow (down), a a (hat), baal (ball), buh ba (bye bye), awa (agua), uh uh (uh oh), bay (baby), papa (pizza), Bail (Bailey), bapa (Baza and calabaza [pumpkin]).

How Emmett Sleeps

He generally goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:00 and wakes up between 6:30 and 7:00. He still needs two naps, but due to our busy life and Clara and Bailey's schedules this often doesn't happen. He's super flexible and will either take 2, 1.5 hour naps or 1, 3 hour nap. He sleeps in his crib with a sleep sack, his water bottle, and a million animals that he likes to play with when he wakes up. Conejo is his favorite that he usually snuggles with. He also snuggles with his water bottle and the night we forgot Conejo at los Tios was content with that! He wears a onesie as it has been too hot for pajamas.  He generally sleeps on his stomach.
