Adios 2016 Hola 2017

We got home from Shaver in time for naps before heading to the McClarty's for their annual New Year's Eve Celebration. Clara slept but Emmett cried, played, sang, anything but sleep. He had taken a short nap on our morning walk so I hoped he would hang tough. The kids had an absolute blast playing with all of the other kids. Drew brought a remote control car track that you can control with your phones and the kids all watched while the dads played. That meant that the moms could relax for once with just the babies! Emmett held on until 11:00 then fell asleep during a diaper change on the dining room floor. He remained asleep while the big kids ran past and Clara kept checking on him and touching him. Reed, Clara, Kieran, Lyla, Jeffrey, and even Baby Emma all made it until well after midnight with no major meltdowns! It was a great night celebrating a great year!

Cheers we made it to midnight!

The real reason he passed out...
On New Year's Day we hosted our annual brunch complete with Aebleskivers (aka pancake balls). Los Abuelos were out of town again this year so it was just my family. We had a delicious breakfast prepared by Dada (all I did was wash the fruit and put it in a bowl) and the kids loved the Aebleskivers. I think Emmett ate five! After taking down the Christmas decorations, naps, and a visit from Kate and Sophie, we headed to Tio's family's annual celebration. We enjoyed delicious food and great company. The kids had fun playing together and we left stuffed and exhausted which are signs of a great party! We can't wait to see what fun 2017 has in store for us!

She liked undecorating almost as much as decorating!

Emmett even helped

Shaver Fun

We headed up to Shaver on December 30 for a quick visit with the Sweets as a pre New Year's Celebration. There wasn't a ton of snow but enough for the kids to play in. We had a blast catching up with them and the kids had so much fun playing together. Clara and Maddie are two and a half years apart but they both love Frozen and Maddie made Clarita so happy by totally getting into character (including requesting two braids) and playing "Anna and Elsa." Emmett and Charlotte are about eight months apart and they also got along great. Charlie called him baby the whole time and kept asking, "where's Emmett?" whenever she couldn't see him. Tyler put up with all the little ones and even helped out. It was a fun night and we can't wait to do it again!

Don't eat the yellow snow!
