Tri-ing in Shaver

Last weekend we headed to Shaver for Dada's triathlon. We stayed at Gruncle Tod and Grauntie Traci's cabin and it was a great weekend. It was nice an cool there and we didn't have cell service or internet at the cabin so we could relax and unplug. Dada didn't have to worry about getting work calls/texts/emails so he was able to relax for the first time in a long time! We arrived late Friday night and Clarita was so excited to be in the mountains at the cabin. She found the toys right away and had a great time playing! She was also excited to sleep in a big bed by herself.

"Dying" my hair

Saturday we went for a walk, ate pizza, went to the lake, and relaxed. While Clarita took a nap we snuggled with Baby Emmett and it was the most time Dada has spent with him just hanging out since he went back to work. They took naps together and the Little Guy was very happy.

The mailboxes were her favorite part of the walk!

We went to a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the local firefighters and Clarita had a great time eating and dancing. We went back to the cabin where she "dyed" our hair and played some more before going to bed.

Surprise, he slept through the dinner!

Sunday morning we headed out at 6:30 for the triathlon. It was chilly which was a nice change from the heat we've been having. Clarita enjoyed climbing rocks, playing in the sand, and throwing rocks in the lake while we waited for Dada to finish the swim. He was fourth out of the water (not bad for not ever swimming) and we ate breakfast and played while we waited for him to finish the bike. Luckily we saw some people we know because it was a long bike. Emmett woke up, nursed, and got a diaper change right in time for us to see Dada finish the bike. Then he headed out on the run. I had my camera all ready to take a picture of him at the finish, but the Little Guy had a giant poop explosion (darn disposable diapers)and I almost missed him coming through. Luckily Clarita saw him so we were still able to cheer. Dada got sixth overall and second in his age group and we had a good time watching him. Emmett slept through most of his first triathlon, and when he was awake was happy to watch everything going on. My first triathlon with two kids was a success!

Real cozy!

The front of the stroller works great for diaper changes!

After the triathlon we headed back to the cabin for nap time. We hung out with the Little Guy and watched the amazing sunset after Clarita woke up. We headed back down the mountain and stopped for dinner in Clovis and got home just in time to see the eclipse! It was a great, relaxing weekend!
