Sophie's 10th Birthday

Somehow tiny little Sophie turned 10! She wanted a Harry Potter Party and the entire Milton clan worked together to put together an amazing party! The decorations were seriously incredible. There were signs pointing to the different places like Hogwarts and Azkaban, a sorting hat, the cutest Harry Potter themed food, and even Quidditch! I tried explaining Harry Potter to Clara on the way to the party and what she took from it was it was about witches and Belle from the Beauty and the Beast movie was in the Harry Potter movie. She then started talking about the witch she had seen outside of her bedroom the night before, "but she didn't have a scar on her forehead." Emmett was very impressed with all of the bikes/cars and made sure he even found a helmet to wear!

Safety first

Clara and Emmett were a little shy at first but quickly warmed up. Neither of them wanted to get sorted or wear a tie from the house they went into, but Clara found one of the broom photo booth props and carried and "rode" it around the rest of the day! Emmett was obsessed with the Quidditch hoops and kept asking people to lift him up so he could throw balls through them.

The kids actually played a game of Quidditch with Emily as keeper and Ethan with the snitch on a fishing pole that the kids chased around. It was such a fun party and I am enlisting the Miltons to play my next party!

We loved celebrating Sophia, the sweetest most caring girl around and Clarita was in heaven watching her open presents. On the way home she told me that Sophie is always going to be her best friend, even when they're big and even when they're moms! I love that even though they're six years apart they can still be great friends!

Trains and Giant Ice Cream

Tia decided that spring break should involve a fun train ride to Hanford to get some giant ice cream (the scoops are seriously as big as your head!). Tio and I decided to take the day off and go and Aba went too (poor Dada had to work). The kids were beyond excited to ride the train! Clara insisted on looking out the window and pointing out everything she saw and asking if the train was going to go faster, Emmett signed and said train over and over and stared out the window, and Bailey kept telling everyone that she was on a train!

Baby Suemoto came too!

We got to Hanford only to realize that Superior Dairy did not open for half an hour which was going to cut it close for our train back. We played in the park across the street while a giant line formed in front of the ice cream shop and we realized we should have just waited since we were the first people there. Luckily we just went to the to go side and got our ice cream in to go cups. It was still giant and delicious and worked perfectly since we had to leave before the kids finished. I got Clara and Bailey a scoop to share but Bailey told me, "I am not liking Clara's ice cream" so I gave her mine. That little girl can eat and ate half of my ice cream before I finally took it back. Good thing because I ended up eating half of Clara's and would never have been able to eat that and all of mine.

Clara convinced Bailey to carry her sweater

We caught the train back and Emmett was very excited about all of the busses at the train station. He kept saying/signing bus and shaking his head no and then saying/signing train to tell us we didn't take a bus but we took a train. It was a fun morning (what morning where you get ice cream before lunch isn't fun?) and we were all tired by the time we were done!

Emmett was more impressed with the machines
than the ice cream

That is one scoop!

Emily's Triathlon

Emily decided to give triathlons a tri, and Kevin was super excited and loved giving her and Kate pointers. Of course we had to see her in action! It was at Millerton and Kevin had actually done both the sprint and olympic distances a few years earlier there. It was pretty chilly and sprinkling when we got there. Kate was super nervous since Emily had not really trained aside from swimming. Ironically, the swim was the hardest part for her because the water was so cold and she couldn't breathe! She still did pretty good on the swim and she kept her pace on the bike and run. Emily is in such great shape and an all around great athlete that she made it look easy and always had a smile on her face! She did a great job and got second in her age group (the winner was junior triathlete of the year or something equally ridiculous and overall female winner)! Clarita and Sophia had a great time playing with Shopkins and Emmett ran around crazy and ate everything in sight. Ethan has decided that he may do a triathlon now and Clara says she'll do one when she's a "big nina." We went to lunch afterwards and enjoyed our time with one of our favorite families!

The cheering section

I finally found someone who makes faces as awesome as mine
while running!
